This is the 'when' in creation that I tell about.
Gen 2:4 This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens.
5 Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the Lord God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground, 6 but streams came up from the earth and watered the whole surface of the ground.
This is after Gen 1:10
9 And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
and before 11.
11 Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
This happened
7 Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
And in all my years of reading and study I have never questioned the meaning of this statement."⋯ Now the Lord had planted ⋯" The Lord did not form a man in the garden! The Lord did not plant the garden as part of creation. Did the Lord form plants before or after Man. The order of the story indicated after Man. Why did the Lord form a man before he formed plants? Plants have Life but not the breath of Life.
The Lord formed a man. The Lord formed several plants in a garden. Is this important?
I beleive that the man was formed to be the Curator of the univese!
But Something wasn't Good. Nothing in this story was ever declared Good. The lord waited, then made changes. Repeat this until the results were declared to be Good!
The declaration never happened.
Let's look at the time. This story started before any stars were set in the sky. Before the Lord set "lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” It took thousands of years before "the land produced vegetation."
During these thousands of years, no activity of the man is recorded!
This is the period before the garden.
I think I understand what might have happered.
After God made something substantial, earth, heavens, water, and separated each from the other, He formed a man from his material so man would have kinship with the earth. God then gave part of His very unique energy so man would have kinship with the energy that was not material. With this separation of energy God expected a separation of knowledge as had happened with every creation in history.
An example is the heavens. God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
Another example is the earth. And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.”
This tie, this closeness, this knowledge, was not there. The dust from which man had been formed did not retain this knowledge. The breath of life did not convey this knowledge. Even if it had, it had been lost! Without this knowledge man could not take care of creation.
While God waited for man to find the knowledge He created a safe place for man to search himself, and a place to protect creation from man while he searched, a garden.
God created lesser forms of Life to refine the process. Life, by nature, tied to the garden. Life that would not move in the garden. Life that would support man in his search, plants. Many plants with different characteristics to be refined in the garden before being placed outside the garden. Before God added man to the garden he added 2 trees.
The first tree was the tree of knowledge. This tree would supply the knowledge especially the knowledge that man was searching for. If it was truely just misplaced, This would correct everything.
The second tree God was sure was not needed. There was no reason for this tree except to remind man of his special situation.
When God ran out of patience, and when everything in the garden was ready, God put man in the garden.
It was not a usual situation that God is in with the man. When God created anything, everything, it imediately knew its' place and worked in balance with all that was and all that would be. This man creation did not work like this. God had given control to His man so he could decide on choices.
It was not until Adam's first son that the Lord God recorded why Adam and then Cain found themselves in the same situation!
If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?
'To Do what is Right' requires 2 things;
Knowledge of what is Right and
the will To Do It
Maybe the Curator idea would need to be revised!
This is the period in the garden while man searches for missing knowledge.
While God allowed man to cotinue his search. He worked arround the garden with land and water. Rivers flowed out of the garden and watered the land. This was the place where the Lord God refined the life he had made for plants. God gave plants the blueprints for matter. Individual plants were formed from the heavens and earth. But God did not form them. God created a blueprint for life. This new energy, life, would last forever, but not in a single collection of matter. Each collection of matter would be cared for by a separate portion of energy dedicated to this collection of matter, this individual plant. This plant, energy and matter, would follow the plan for matter and the plan for life which it would maintain on site forever. The energy was free to leave and return to its source. The collection of matter was also free to return to its source.
What is
a Curator?:
the person in charge of a museum, art collection, etc.;
a person who selects content for presentation, as on a website.;
a manager; superintendent.;
In Law, a guardian of a minor or any other person who is unable to care for their own affairs, especially with regard to their property.
This sounds like the duties given to Life doesn't it? This sounds like the duties that were offered to man, it might be?. Life accepted the assignment and man ⋯
God might have uttered to no one listening, "If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?"
God fine-tuned the details, created variations, and even created 2 special versions of trees.
As the plant was acceptable in the garden, it was placed in a sutable part of land that was created for it outside the garden.
This order of creating and placing was follow just for man. Man was still having problems with the 'do-what-is-right'. Man was never punished for what he did. He was also never accepted because the 'do-what-is-right' part was never done. Maybe he really did not know what to do? Maybe he really did not know he neede to choose?
Outside the garden, the land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
Then the Lord God
took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
The Curator idea was revised! There will be no single caretaker for creation.
Life would have the duties for a small portion of dymanic matter. The concept was working very well. God would not give all existing matter to Life. Life was not that good.
God still contended that his man would have done that duty better. God would see what man would do with direct orders for inside the garden: 'work it and take care of it.' God had great visions for man!
God will curate the heavens and earth, He had not finished with it yet. There was still much to be organized.
This is the period in the garden while man is to take care of it.
God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
It was now the time to evaluate man again. Man did not do what is Right. Man had not been changed since he had been formed from dust. This lack of solid form was no longer needed for man's work in the garden: and afterwards. Man would possibly be given Life. God had lost confidence in His man. Man hade been given everything. Man had seen everything. The trees in the garden had not enticed man. He had not taken anything.
And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."
Die is something you know nothing about. You have never been forced into doing anything. This will force you to understand right and wrong, but, most importantly, you will understand that you have several possible things to think and do and this will force you to make a choice. Your existance, as you know it, will forever change. Each choice you make will change what you will be allowed choose from next. I will no longer dictate your future!
This is the period in the garden when man is given a helper to search for missing knowledge.
Man is forced to face his fear! He needed help to do this. Man had been alive longer than plants had been on earth. Man had not eaten from the trees; He had not investigated the tree of Life! Why would anything change without change in the conditions in the garden. Man felt no need to change.
But there was a requirement to do what is right. Man was the only creation not doing what is right even as creation moved on in time and what is right had changed in the details.
Creation was adapting as new creations were placed in the world. God had separated and expanded the universe. The sun and moon were finding their place. everything was kept in balance because creation followed the will of God! Except for man, this was true. Man could not be allowed to leave the garden until he accepted the will of God. God forced a change in man. He would be given a form, accept God's will, and take his place in the world. Man, in the form of a plant, would not allow for his duties. He needed to move around creation! But how much was needed?
A new form detached from the earth was formed and given to man to evaluate. All sizes and all shapes were given to man but suitable form was found. As these forms tried and found lacking for man, they were placed outside the garden. Man would work with these forms latter and they would find their place in creation. They would all do what is right or die. Life would be in charge of each of them and keep creation in balance.
Now the Lord God had the experience of Life in all its' variations. He choose the latest form, not to big and not too small, with appendages for working in a physical world outside the garden. This was the form his man would retain. Man had not taken advantage of the tree of Life in the garden. Man would continue as multiple, individual forms, each would die but man would continue. Then God created a second individual man from the first. His first man did not listen to Him and follow by doing what is right; But this second individual would listen and do what is right. It was time for man to move ahead. The garden had served its' purpose and would end.
God had set the stage well for the final act. His second Man would be shown 'what-is-right', see that it was good, and do 'what-is-right'. His first Man would see this happen. He would willing take 'what-is-right' and accept the knowledge of Good and evil. The first Man would know 'what-is-right' and 'what-is-not-right' and choose 'what-is-right'. God's concern for thousands of years would be resolved.
This action would happen quickly. The Spirit came into the garden in the form of a serpent and started a conversation with the Second. The serpent tested the Second's knowledge of the condition. The Second did not know all the details because what she know was second-hand knowledge. She did not have the fear of the First and saw that the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She saw the all was Good. Following God's plan, the First had seen all that had happened and the results. The Second gave some to the First.
The knowledge that one has does not mean the same to another. Both now had the same knowledge but the understanding was not the same. The first Man was still afraid and could not defeat fear. Man could not accept 'what-is-right' and made the wrong choice. He hid from God.
God came to His man. Man cannot hide from his God.
This is the period after the garden when man leaves without finding acceptance.
Man and
Man is banished him from the Garden of Eden.
To Adam he said, “Because you have done this I give you pain. I gave you choice and you chose to be afraid. I now return the pain you have given me. You will work your entire life with this pain to remind you that you were too afraid to accept your role as the one and only caretaker, a Curator, of my creations. The opportunity will be forgotten but the pain will ever remind you, above all, that a unique future will never be offered again.
You and the female will only be given sons. Your continued presence will depend on females desended from mankind and will diminish with each generation until I end it. But I will be with you always.
Man and woman left the garden never to return. They lived and had sons. Their sons fought. God was still there. The sons of man found the daughters of mankind and Adam's lineage continued and diminished. God Almighty was there.
God Almighty followed His man. A history was kept sacred but the opportunity was forgotten. History states limited facts and mankind's role in man's record is NOT emphasized. The entire need for females was missed by tracing the line of man only by male descendants. God required this to fulfill his commitment to man, I will be with you always.
Mankind different commands.
Mankind is placed in the world.
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
(So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.)
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
God went with mankind and was there with each when called upon. The Spirit was with all creation as it continued to expand.
Man did not record a history with each pair of mankind, much was lost forever except for the record preserved with the creation itself. The Spirit took several personallities as needed as man increased in number and filled the earth. I will try to follow as many as possible and gather as much of a history as I can here.
This is the period when man from the garden finally rests.
The Father, Son, Holy Ghost.
The Babylonian destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C.E. and the exile of the last Davidic kings, Jehoiakin and Zedekiah, ended the Davidic monarchy.
The lineage of Adam, of Noah, of Abram, of David, is broken by the virgin birth of the Son to "to a man named Joseph, of the house of David" (1:27).
God promised David that his family would have an everlasting dynasty and that his kingdom would never end (2 Sam. 7:13, 16). And God's promise was upheld. Mary's betrothal to Joseph connects her to the Davidic family. It tells us that Mary is not part of any ordinary family, but a royal family. David's descendants ruled over the Jews for several centuries in the glory days of the Kingdom of Judah. Mary may be married to a man who possesses the royal bloodline of the Davidic kings, but her husband is not reigning as a prince in a Jerusalem palace. Instead, he works as a humble carpenter, appearing to live a quiet, run-of-the-mill life in the secluded village of Nazareth.
The birth was the beginning of Christianity. The era of 'God Almighty' changed to the era of 'God the Father'. God the Son came to earth to offer salvation to every one, both the descendants of Man and the descendants of Mankind.
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; ⋯"
